Nichole Klootwyk has been a resident in the Paradise Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) for over 25 years and a mother to students attending PVUSD schools for 15 years.
Nichole is a dedicated mother to three sons, a loving wife, and a respected professional who started her career working as a CPA. All three of her children attended PVUSD schools, two graduated from the district and one is still in high school. She has attended countless board meetings over the years. Nichole has also volunteered extensively as room mom, Junior Achievement class teacher, PTO Vice President, Booster Club Treasurer, and a district committee member.
As a CPA, Nichole worked for a prestigious Big 4 public accounting firm, KPMG, as an auditor. When she got married, she reevaluated her priorities, leaving the grueling work schedule of public accounting for the corporate world. At The Dial Corporation, she honed her problem-solving skills while working on financial reporting, as a liaison with human resources, and interpreting accounting guidelines to form company policies.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nichole has a deep interest in education. She is deeply committed to community and her Christian faith. She has a curious mind that seeks data and researches facts when faced with an issue. She is the kind of person who goes to the source, reading state statute, bylaws, and policy. She is a critical thinker and eternal optimist. She believes elected officials should listen and consider the publics’ views before making decisions.
Nichole believes the school board needs to be focused on academic excellence. Students need to graduate proficient in math, reading, writing, science, history, and civics. She thinks we need to reward our great teachers and stop spending on budget items that are not relevant to educating students and supporting teachers.
Nichole Klootwyk is a dynamic individual who embodies professional excellence, community engagement and common sense, making her a strong school board candidate for a role that demands finance expertise, dedication, and leadership.
